Overview

Planets range in size from 19km to 120km in diameter. They are semi-procedurally generated, in that some parts of the planet are created by an artist. Their gravity is 0.25g on moons and 1g on planet, althought some planets have a gravity different from that. They are completely static, the day night cycle works by the sun rotating around the skybox. Planets, like asteroids have ore. Most planets are divided into biomes. For example, Earth like planets tend to have a desert at the equator, grasslands and mountains further north/south and a polar cap.

Planets are very hard to land on, as their gravity requires a large amount of thrust. Ion thrusters work only at 0.3 efficiency at the surface of planets with an atmosphere, thus, using atmospheric thrusters for near surface operations, and hydrogen thrusters for getting out of the gravity level of planets.

The further the player gets, the less gravity there is from the planet. This also means that atmospheric engines will smoothly lose efficiency until they completely stop working.
