Sloped Armor

We need to indicate how Sloped is different from non-sloped armor. I think sloped armor will slightly deform to its surroundings as you're applying it - but I'm not sure, and not sure how it works. Jarod997 (talk) 20:01, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Block descriptions for the newer armour blocks will have its own headers. It's on my To-Do list, I'm just finishing up the rest of the block pages that are empty/dated/stubbed. However, that being said. I can include the headers and you (or others) are free to write in a more in-depth explanation. As for deformation, if there is a big enough difference worth mentioning between slopped/non-slopped, you can add that information under the Armor_block#Deformation header. --Sapphire (talk) 03:01, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

Deformation Ratio

Test case: Creative, 3x3x1 LargeBlockArmorBlock (Standard Light Armor Block) vs Elite Automatic Rifle

Deformation ratio is undefined (Unchanged)
42 shots to destruction
Light deformation
Deformation Ratio 0.1
42 shots to destruction
No visible deformation
Deformation Ratio 10
42 shots to destruction
Significant deformation

Surrounding blocks deformed but took no damage in any test case.

Conclusion
DeformationRatio does not in any way affect a block's resistance to bullets.

Test case: Creative, 3x3x1 LargeBlockArmorBlock (Standard Light Armor Block) vs Reactor & 10kN Ion Thrust kinetic rocket

Deformation ratio is undefined (Unchanged)
Target center at 41%
Light deformation
Deformation Ratio 0.1
Target center at 100%
No visible deformation
Deformation Ratio 10
Entire target is missing
Conclusion
DeformationRatio does affect damage resistance to physical collisions

Test case: Creative, Large Warhead block vs target range remains

Deformation ratio at 10
Half the test range is missing
Deformation ratio at 0.1
Minor damage
Conclusion
DeformationRatio does affect damage resistance to explosions

Final conclusion
A lower DeformationRatio increases effective block health against collisions and explosions, but not bullets.
